Average for 1040 with Schedule A: $273
Average for 1040 with no itemized deductions: $159
Average Prices at Franchised Tax Offices:

H&R Block: $147 per return (average, 2014 data)
Liberty Tax Service: $191 per return (net average fee, 2014 data)
(Jackson Hewitt, also a nation-wide chain, does not disclose their average fees.)"

I had a great question this morning about price! Unlike other companies, we don't charge PER W-2, it's per form sent to the IRS.
Example 1: You have 8 W-2's, no kids, and you aren't itemizing, your cost would be $25.
Example 2: You have 2 W-2's, 1 child (and you qualify for the EIC), you're NOT itemizing, your cost would be $50 (because the 1040 and the EIC form would be used.)
Example 3: All the same as example 2, BUT you're going to itemize your cost would be $75. (3 forms would be used: 1040, EIC, and Schedule A).
