My law practice focuses on family law, criminal defense, auto accidents/personal injury, and criminal defense. I also enjoy writing Wills and estate planning for my clients. I have over twenty-five years experience as a trial attorney in these practice areas. My family law practice represents 40% of my active trial practice. I have tried well over 150 custody and divorce matters. I enjoy this area of practice, as it allows me to work to find meaningful solutions and help settle the lives of my clients who are faced with difficult divorce and custody problems. Prior to opening my own law office, I worked for 10 years as a civil litigation attorney for a major auto insurance company. Because of this, I have always had a good success with auto accident and personal injury cases in my law practice. I understand how insurance companies work from the inside out, know how to get the best offer on your auto accident case, and how best to try your auto accident case in Court. I have tried over three hundred auto accident cases throughout the state of Maryland. I enjoy handling these matters and am very committed to bringing about a favorable result for my clients either through settlement of taking the case to trial. I also practice extensively in the areas of criminal defense, with over 50 trials to verdict as a criminal defense attorney. Good attorney-client relationships require that attorneys make the commitment to communicate regularly with clients. I tell clients exactly what I am going to do in their case, why I'm going to do it, and when I'm going to do it. I also drill deeply into my client's case. I don't take on a case unless I have the time, patience, commitment and knowledge to follow through on my client's case and do my best work. Have a great day!

As part of an estate planning package, I always recommend my clients have me prepare a power of attorney. This can be either a "springing" power of attorney, which begins on a certain date or event in the future, or a power of attorney in effect immediately after it is signed and notarized. The power of attorney gives authority to the agent to handle the affairs of the principal in the short term should it become necessary.

Children of families going through divorce are helped by the creation of thorough parenting agreements. This way children know when and where they can expect to spend time with mom and dad. A good parenting agreement should address: 1. School schedule (sports schedule, if active) - when school is in session, 2. Holiday schedule, 3. School break schedule (sports schedule, if active) and 4. Vacation schedule. This helps everyone stay organized, keeps both parents involved in the lives of their children.
