IT'S PRIDE MONTH! 🏳️‍🌈

Pride Month always reminds me how important visibility, community, and courage truly are.

Years ago, helping co-found the LGBT Caucus within the American Association for Justice was about creating space. Space for connection. Space for advocacy. Space for lawyers to show up fully as themselves while fighting for justice for others.

I’m proud of what this community has built together and grateful for the leaders, allies, and friends who continue to move the work forward.

This month, I’m especially excited to celebrate with the AAJ LGBT Caucus at the upcoming AAJ Convention and continue conversations about inclusion, representation, and the power of belonging in this profession.

Progress happens when people are willing to show up authentically and help open doors for others to do the same.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈

My word for this year is: LOVE. ❤️

I’ve been surprised by how often I’m noticing it.

In small moments. In people. In unexpected places.

In the work we do. In the people we fight for. In the people we stand beside.

It’s easy to get caught up in everything that feels heavy.

But looking for love, even intentionally, shifts something.

It doesn’t change the work. But it changes how we carry it.

A small reminder to myself this month:
Notice it. ❤️

Grateful to have spent time in my hometown of St. Petersburg for the Florida Justice Association Women’s Caucus Leadership Retreat.

There is something powerful about being in a room full of women leaders who are committed to lifting each other up, strengthening the civil justice system, and creating space for the next generation of trial lawyers.

The conversations, collaboration, and shared purpose always leave me inspired.

Thankful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and lead alongside so many incredible women in this profession.

One of my favorite parts of this work is the opportunity to speak. 🎤

Not just to share ideas, but to connect. To listen. To learn from the conversations that happen after.

Every room is different. Every audience brings something new.

And every time, I walk away with more than I came with.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
The best conversations are the ones where we’re willing to show up, share honestly, and learn from each other.

Looking forward to more of those moments ahead.

This year, I’ve experienced spring in four places.
Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, and now Massachusetts.

Each one different. Each one the same.

Trees budding. Flowers blooming. Colors shifting.

In Florida, the jacaranda.
In Colorado, pasque flowers.
In North Carolina, phlox and azaleas.
In Massachusetts, daffodils and tulips.

There’s something about witnessing spring unfold in different places that humbles you.

It’s a reminder that life moves forward, whether we pause to notice it or not.

Lately, I’ve been trying to notice it.

Even for a few minutes, stepping outside feels like a form of meditation I didn’t know I needed.

And yes… also a reminder that four springs = four rounds of allergies. Achooo.

Barcelona, here we come. 🇪🇸

I’m looking forward to joining colleagues from around the world at the PEOPIL Joint Product Liability, Mass Torts and Women in Law Conference this May 21–24. I am speaking on Management Styles for Mental Health with Kristina Ais Toss at Shingleton Schriber and Nicole Anderson Davidson at Nelson & Fraenkel. Moderator is Dominque Smith from Deka Chambers.

Hosted by Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers, this gathering brings together advocates who are deeply committed to advancing civil justice across borders. These conversations matter. Sharing ideas, learning from one another, and building connections globally only makes our work stronger.

Grateful to be part of it and proud to represent Justice Law Collaborative on an international stage.

If you’ll be there, I would love to connect.

May 15 is Bike to Work Day, and I love this one. 🚴‍♀️

Because riding a bike is one of the simplest ways I know to shift my mindset.

When I’m riding, I’m not thinking about work, deadlines, or the weight of everything we carry.

I’m just… there.

Present. Moving. Breathing.

Joy doesn’t always come from big moments. Sometimes it’s something as simple as getting back on a bike. 🚴‍♀️

This month, I’m making space for more of that.

And yes, if you see me riding, there’s a good chance I’m hearing 🎶 I Love to Ride My Bicycle! 🎶 by Queen in my head.

What’s one small thing that brings you back to yourself?

As May is , I'll be sharing a post each Wednesday this month.

As lawyers, we are trained to push through. To show up. To carry more than most people ever see.

But here’s a simple reminder I’m working on myself:
Pausing is not weakness. It’s maintenance.

Even a few minutes. A walk. A breath. A moment without noise.

At Justice Law Collaborative, we talk a lot about supporting others. This month, I’m also thinking about how we support ourselves.

I’ll be sharing a few simple ways I try to reset throughout the month. Nothing complicated. Just real-life pauses.

If you’re reading this, consider this your reminder:
Take a break today.

Boston filled my cup.

Time with the Women Trial Lawyers Caucus always reminds me how powerful it is when people come together with a shared purpose.

Thank you to Meehan Boyle, Justice Law Collaborative, and every AAJ member who showed up, contributed, and continues to help build this community.

This work doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people care enough to show up and do it.

Grateful to be among them.
