Give yourself and your child the gift of PEACE OF MIND before they go away to college in August!!! ❤️

Some parents are surprised when they can no longer access their child’s medical or financial records once their child reaches 18 years of age and/or goes away to college. In this situation, a General Durable Power of Attorney can still help you help your child!!

A General Durable Power of Attorney allows you, as the parent, to act as a representative on your child’s behalf in the event your child is unable to act on his or her own volition. Even more simply, it would allow you to access your child’s bank accounts, medical records, and school records to act on your child’s behalf, or even to contact the financial aid office at his or her university!

If you need help preparing and executing a General Durable Power of Attorney, I can help! Give me a call! You will be glad that you did!

A lesson for the day….

Memorial Day is a time to mourn the loss of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. It is a time to reflect and remember, and pay your respects to the sacrifice those soldiers made to afford you the freedoms that you take for granted. We honor those we lost on the last Monday of May. We don’t wish people a “Happy Memorial Day.” Memorial Day is a day of remembrance. (Memorial Day was originally called “Remembrance Day.”)

Veterans Day is a time to honor ALL of our servicemen and women, past and present, living or deceased, who have served our country. It is celebrated on November 11th, which signifies the end of World War I, which ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. (Veterans Day was initially called “Armistice Day.”)

So when you are barbecuing or hanging out on the beach this weekend, take a moment to pay your respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

And remember: Freedom is not free. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
