Beware of scammers after disasters like .

Never agree to pay a fee to fill out an application - we will never ask you for money to apply for disaster assistance. Ask to see a photo ID - all FEMA staff carry an identification badge.

PSA everyone - Shelters are getting specific on what they need
Items Needed: Water, sports drinks, hydration packs, bug spray, sunscreen, plastic utensils, trash bags, non-perishable foods, energy bars, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, paper products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, single serving snacks, and sanitizer wipes.

The North Carolina Insurance Commissioner is proposing an increase of home owners insurance to increase of an average 42.2% to go in to affect this August and even increases by the coast up to 99.4% increase.
There will be a virtual public hearing on the Rate Bureau Proposal, Mon., Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Deadline to submit written comments via email or mail is Fri., Feb. 2.

I love this advice to keep you out of online trouble. If you get an ad online or an email from your insurance carrier. STOP. Don't click. Go to the company website and look at the ad. Don't Google a company and click on the paid ad (criminals pay for ads). This new world with AI is getting confusing on what's real and what's memorex (remember memorex). Adopting a zero trust strategy [can] mitigate many of these control gaps, and offer defense-in-depth for most organizations.”
