Disgusting! And I'm sure they'll never pay the verdict of almost $1,000.000,000 (yep, almost one billion dollars). Yep, tortious interference with a dead body or negligent mishandling of a co**se is for sure a case. 30 year prison sentence pretty steep but apparently hundreds of victims for the 189 co**ses they never properly buried.

Carie Hallford was sentenced to 30 years for her role in a scheme that involved hiding nearly 200 decomposing bodies.

Attorney Dan Cytryn
Enough is enough.
These electric scooters and bikes are flying down sidewalks—and it’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.
I see it every day: people walking, kids nearby… and then someone comes speeding past within inches. No warning. No control. No protection.
And what’s worse? Young kids riding them with no helmets, no pads, nothing.
That’s not just risky—that’s how you end up with a serious brain injury, broken bones, or worse.

We recently represented a 59-year-old gentleman who thought riding an electric scooter was a more efficient way to get to work in Miami-Dade County. Within a matter of months, he was involved in two separate accidents where he was riding an electric scooter on the streets near Coconut Grove—neither accident was his fault. One of those cases involved a mild traumatic brain injury, and we were able to obtain a $1.2 million settlement for him.

If your child is riding one of these, you need to take responsibility:
At a minimum:
• A properly fitted, CPSC-certified helmet (or ASTM-rated skate helmet)
• Worn correctly—level, tight, and secure
Better yet:
• Knee pads
• Elbow pads
• Wrist guards
And use common sense:
• No flip-flops
• No headphones
• No riding at night without lights
• Supervise younger kids
These are not toys. They are motorized vehicles.
As a personal injury trial lawyer, I can tell you this:
When these accidents happen, the injuries are often severe—and many times, there’s little or no recovery because the rider is at fault.
But when negligence is involved—whether it’s a reckless rider, a careless driver, or unsafe conditions—we step in and hold people accountable.

AI (Chat GPT) was sued for $10,000,000.00 for practicing law without a license.

A company in the United States has filed a lawsuit claiming that **ChatGPT acted like a lawyer even though it is not licensed to practice law**.

The case involves a woman named Graciela Dela Torre, who worked for a company called Nippon. She became sick with arm and hand problems and asked for insurance benefits from her job. When those benefits were taken away, she sued the company. In January 2024, the case was settled, and she agreed not to file another lawsuit.

Later, Dela Torre believed her lawyer had made mistakes in the settlement. She used ChatGPT to review her lawyer’s explanation. After that, she fired her lawyer.

According to Nippon, ChatGPT then helped Dela Torre act as her own lawyer. It helped her write legal arguments to try to reopen the case, even though the judge said her case could not be reopened.

Even after losing, Dela Torre filed many more legal papers with the court. Nippon claims that ChatGPT helped her write all of them. The company says these papers had no real legal purpose and were meant to cause trouble.

Nippon also says ChatGPT helped Dela Torre go after one of Nippon’s lawyers. When the lawyer asked for more time because he was hurt in an accident, Dela Torre demanded proof of his injuries and even asked for his medical records. She also accused him of serious wrongdoing.

The company claims that without ChatGPT’s help, Dela Torre would not have been able to file so many legal documents. Because of this, Nippon says ChatGPT was acting like a lawyer without a license, which is not allowed under the law.

OpenAI has been accused of practicing law without a license in a lawsuit brought by Nippon Life Insurance Co. of America.

LAW OFFICES CYTRYN AND VELAZQUEZ, P.A. OBTAINS $1,500,000 JURY VERDICT AGAINST HARVARD-TRAINED ORTHOPEDIC SPINAL SURGEON

On February 10, a Broward County jury awarded a verdict of $1.5 million dollars against Dr. Kingsley Chin, a Harvard trained orthopedic spinal surgeon. In April of 2017, Mark Woodard, a 50-year-old gentleman, was rear-ended in a car accident. After 10 days he went to see orthopedic spinal surgeon, Dr. Kingsley Chin, then practicing in Hollywood, Florida

Dr. Chin put Mr. Woodard through the regiment of medication, physical therapy, and initial injections on the first visit, and talked about doing different kind of injections after that, including epidural steroid injections and other injections, but never did them. It was a rush to surgery, and a little more than 6 months after the accident, Dr. Chin finally convinced Mr. Woodard to have surgery. However, it was not only one surgery, but spinal fusion surgery on his neck and his low back, on the same day, in an out-patient medical practice.

It was our contention that neither procedure was necessary. Dr. Chin’s surgery substantially worsened Mr. Woodard’s condition, including but not limited to, cutting through a congenital conjoined nerve root at the level of L5-S1, and then doing two subsequent exploratory surgeries, unable to find the cause of Mr. Woodard’s substantially increased pain, blaming it on “scar tissue”.

Finally, Mr. Woodard went to see another orthopedic spinal surgeon, who went in there, did an exploratory surgery, and found the conjoined nerve which Dr. Chin had cut through, and also found bone graft that was supposed to hold a disc spacer in place sitting on the S1 spinal nerve.

The defense presented testimony from a Stanford University educated orthopedic spinal surgeon that there was no departure from the standard of care by Dr. Chin. We hired an orthopedic surgeon who went to medical school in Syria, and had a successful practice in Orlando for 40 years. He testified to the standard of care violations by Dr. Chin.

In closing argument, the defense lawyer for Dr. Chin blamed the later treating physician who did the last surgery, for having caused the injury.

Thankfully, and also because there was no evidence against the second surgeon, the jury returned a verdict of medical malpractice against Dr. Chin, making him liable for the injuries caused by the first surgery.
