Today, ten years ago, March 12, 2009, I took the leap; I mustered the courage to start my own law practice- to start Cohen Law. It may seem courageous now but at the time it was crazy because I was a baby lawyer at Big Law making Big Law salary and the economy fell into recession. Who starts a law practice amidst this? Without a partner, husband or father to stroke a check, terrified and uncertain, I did it because I knew I could. TEN years later this little shop that I’ve built is an undeniable success not just because of its growth or numbers but mainly because I accomplished the goal I set ten years ago of making my clients truly feel like family. When you care that much and love what you do, the long hours and seemingly endless obstacles do not feel like work. When you care that much, ten years goes by in the blink of an eye. Happy TEN year anniversary to my small business. I look forward to what the future holds.
