Even in todays 🔥 market an updated home still tugs at buyers’ heartstrings, selling an average of 30% faster than a home without improvements.

The analysis found that homes with modern renovations sold in an average of eight days, compared to 12 days without improvements. Homes with two or more improvements sold two times faster – in an average of six days.

🔸 Interior and exterior paint is the most common home improvement with 70% of sellers opting to refresh their walls. Prospective buyers crush the most on freshly painted kitchen cabinets
🔸 Consistency is key when choosing which renovations to make. If one room gets a fresh coat of paint, it is important that the rest of the house does as well. Knock experts also suggest selecting neutral colors when updating paint, flooring and surfaces.
🔸 Simple kitchen and bath improvements are what home shoppers desire as well: light natural colors with clean open space designs

After two years of falling below 3%, interest rates reached 5% on April 5 for a 30-year mortgage. While home prices are not expected to drop sharply in the general market, price increases should at least level off, experts nationwide expect.

WHAT ARE YOUR DREAM HOME “MUST HAVES ”?

During the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recent convention in Orlando, researchers issued a list of the home features currently desired by different generations.

📍The pandemic continues to influence demand for outdoor amenities, bigger homes and the suburbs. But all ages still like laundry rooms and walk-in pantries.

📍 New-home buyers also show a preference to homes with four-plus bedrooms (46%) and at least three bathrooms (34%).

📍The percentage of single-family homes with patios rose to 63% as more emphasis is placed on outdoor living.

📍 Buyers also have an eye toward energy efficiency, with top preferences focused on energy-efficient lighting, ENERGY STAR appliances and whole home certification.

📍Also increased the desire to exercise rooms, home offices and designated bike lanes in their communities.
