This is such a fallacy and a question I get asked multiple times a week.

The problem is the answer is definitely NOT either/or.

EVERYONE needs a will as the first step of a responsible estate plan. Whether or not your situation is appropriate for a trust is a secondary component.

Thousands of children in Texas are legally free for adoption but still waiting for loving families. Many are older, part of sibling groups, or have special needs, making it more challenging to find homes. With growing community challenges, the need for adoptive families is urgent. AIM's Abba's Kids program facilitates matched adoptions—not foster care—helping children whose parental rights have been terminated. The program has a low $300 application fee and a high need for families, especially for teens aging out of the system.
