"Life shouldn't be this hard."
Nola Carpenter's life turned upside down when she met Devan Bonagura while she was working long shifts at Walmart. She revealed that she had been working there for the last 20 years and could not retire because she needed to pay off her mortgage. Then he decided to do everything possible to fulfill the old lady's dream because there was no one else to help her. He even started a fundraising campaign.
Bonagura revealed that he was told to stop because the retailer was allegedly being threatened and received severe backlash after Carpenter's story went public, adding they would involve the cops if necessary. "I told them to 'do what you have to do' because I'm getting this money to this woman one way or another," he said. Devan was suspended from his job after that, but none of it mattered to him because he was glad he had been able to help Carpenter.
What beautiful things happen when people come together! We are sending prayers for this amazing teen with a heart of gold, and to this grandma, we wish her long and peaceful years ahead.
