Congratulations to Holly R. Rao, Esq., UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law, '86 JD, who began her one-year term as President-Elect of the Rhode Island Bar Association on July 1, 2026, and will serve through June 30, 2027.

A senior partner at Olenn & Penza, LLP, Rao's practice is primarily in the areas of insurance defense, professional negligence, insurance coverage, and construction litigation. Her professional negligence defense work primarily involves representing attorneys sued in state or federal court for malpractice involving a variety of underlying practice areas.

Rao has served on the Rhode Island Bar Association's House of Delegates since 2016 and on the Executive Committee for the past eight years. She chaired the Association's Annual Meeting Planning Committee in 2018 and has served as Chair of the Insurance Programs Committee since 2015.
