Eleven Vorys attorneys have been recognized as part of the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers’ “Lawyer of the Year” list:

Dave Cook, Perry Doran II, Judy Marsh, William Porter, Greg Russell, Kristin Watt, Jacinto Núñez, Elia Woyt, Kent Britt, Anthony Osterlund and Victor Walton, Jr.

Only one attorney from each city can be named “Lawyer of the Year” for a given practice area. According to Best Lawyers, the list reflects “a high level of respect among other lawyers in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, professionalism and integrity.”

Team Vorys hit the road once again for Pelotonia, marking 18 years of coming together to support cancer research and our community. This past weekend, attorneys and staff from our Akron, Cincinnati, and Columbus offices joined thousands of participants across Ohio for this annual event.

This year, 25 riders took on routes ranging from 17–165 miles, while 10 volunteers helped make the event a success at the Goodale Park Rest Stop. From food preparation and keeping riders hydrated with water and Gatorade to directing traffic and cheering on participants, our volunteers helped create a welcoming experience for riders throughout the day.

Together, Team Vorys raised over $45,000 this year in support of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

Since 2009, Team Vorys has contributed more than $509,000 to advance cancer research. We’re thankful to everyone who participated, volunteered, and represented Vorys during this meaningful weekend.

Please join us in welcoming Beth Spain back to Vorys! Beth rejoins the firm as of counsel in our Cleveland office and is a member of the labor and employment group.

Beth brings more than 20 years of litigation and labor and employment experience, including more than a decade serving as in-house counsel for leading companies in the retail, health care and manufacturing industries. Her combined experience as both outside and in-house counsel allows her to deliver practical, business-focused guidance to employers.

Throughout June, Team Vorys came together across the country to celebrate Pride Month and support the LGBTQIA+ community.

From Pride celebrations in Orange County, Cleveland, Akron, Columbus and Cincinnati to gathering with the community in Houston after severe weather changed local plans, attorneys, staff, family members and friends spent the month showing up, connecting and celebrating together.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize these events and to all who participated throughout the month. We appreciate the many opportunities to celebrate, build community and recognize the history and ongoing contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
