In Maryland, people can be arrested, thrown in jail and forced to defend themselves against criminal charges without input from police or prosecutors.

HEADS UP: DUI saturation patrols will be in effect tonight in honor of "Drinksgiving" and will continue through the holiday season. If you'll be drinking, be sure to designate a driver, call a ride share service or just stay home.

ATTENTION MARYLAND DRIVERS: New laws went into effect on October 1st. Driving in excess of the speed limt by 30 mph or greater now carries a potential penalty of 60 days in jail.

It is considered Reckless Driving, which now carries the maximum penalty of 60 days in jail and/or $1,000 fine, along with 6 points on your driving record. You cannot just pay the citation. It requires a court appearance in front of a judge.

Carroll County’s deputy prosecutor is out, sheriff’s deputy is under investigation and a man’s conviction has been overturned as a result

Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced Tuesday her office would cease prosecuting people for possessing ma*****na regardless of quantity or criminal history.
