Friends - VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE to TN Sentencing laws that could help your friends and family in prison in Tennessee on drug charges.

The DFZ (Drug Free Zone) laws changed in the State of Tennessee on April 29, 2022.

Offenders in prison that have 100% day for day sentences to serve can now go back before a Circuit Court judge and file a Petition asking to have their case Re-sentenced.

If Judge approves, they can have their sentences redone and possibly considered for 30% time to serve instead of 100% which in many cases will get somebody eligible for parole immediately.

The DFZ (Drug Free Zone) laws changed in the State of Tennessee on April 29, 2022 pursuant to TN Laws Pub. Ch. 927 TCA 39-17-432 (h) and Memorandum Summary SB 1528-HB 1449.

Offenders in prison that plead guilty or were sentenced after trial to 100% sentences to serve DAY FOR DAY can now go back before a Circuit Court judge and file a Petition asking to have their case Re-sentenced and have their sentences redone and possibly considered for 30% sentencing instead of 100% which in many cases will get somebody eligible for relief to make parole immediately because of the adjustment to their sentence down from 100% day for day to serve to a much lower amount.

Historic $ 2.2 Trillion Stimulus Package is close to being passed and if it does:

Individuals who filed 2018 Tax Returns and make less than $75000 will get $1200 in next 3-8 weeks from federal government. Married couples with up to $150K in income and qualify will receive $2,400 and $500 per child, and could potentially get $3,400 if married with two kids.

Expanded Unemployment benefits are going to be available from both State&Federal governments with State governments paying some and federal government potentially guaranteeing additional compensation.

Small Business Administration (SBA) will be providing loans at 2.75-3.75 % depending on entity type with up To 30 year terms for repayment and potential loan forgiveness for payroll expenses during specified times.

A number of other important provisions are included in the proposed Bill.
