Congratulations to SCDTAA Board member Rob Tyson of Robinson Gray for being appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to a new study committee set up to conduct a thorough review of South Carolina’s insurance laws.

The Insurance Review and Study Committee, created by a proviso in the recently passed state budget, is charged with addressing coverage availability, premium rates, and deductibles. The proviso requires that the panel consist of three senators, three representatives and three non-legislative members appointed by the governor.

Of the governor’s three, one must be a “practicing attorney with extensive insurance defense experience,” and that is the seat Rob Tyson has filled.

The Southeastern Women Litigators Conference is February 29-March 1 in Nashville! We will spend two half-days exploring ways to excel as female trial lawyers in an often male-dominated arena.
