Another Day, Another new Family Beginning! It’s truly worthwhile to know that what we do makes an impact, especially when we get to see our clients on Adoption Day, and to see a new family unit start their journey. We always want to make sure that our clients, and the newly adopted child(ren), know how much we care and how excited we are for them. Today, Tyler Brown assisted another family to formalize the adoption for a Step-Father (now just “DAD”) and his wonderful now-adopted DAUGHTER (family not present for confidentiality reasons, but you can take our word for it, they took plenty of pictures of the space and with the Judge virtually!).

The Maryland Court of Special Appeals recently entered an Opinion, which establishes a new cause of action for tortious interference with a parental relationship. Under this new tort action, custodial parents may seek damages from a liable party when all of the elements of this claim are met.
