The MEME of MONEY. I think Michael Jordan has made some good moves after retiring, after his basketball life. He has made money and he is living his life. It is not about making money, it is about enjoying your life. If you have enough money to do what you want, where you want, with your friends, then what could be more important? Are you wasting your life adding chips to your pile? Or are you spending your time laughing with your friends?

Bankruptcy. If you are held down by debt it can be a game changer. And by the way go Nuggets.

If foreclosure is on your mind and you live in Colorado, you have come to the right place. 1st consultation is on the phone and then you can go from there. Bankruptcy is often the quickest way to get to another level of credit. Missing payments, getting sued, losing wages to garnishment, losing money out of bank account; none of that is a good thing. You can leave a message at 719-632-9991 or you can leave a text or sometimes catch me at 719-684-4365. Life is too short. Look forward to talking to you. Lots of rodeos, more than 40 years filing thousands of bankruptcies and still enjoying it.

Exemptions in Bankruptcy have been increased. So good. Home exemptions for equity were 75k for most and 105k for 60 and over folks. You could file a bankruptcy with that much equity. Now there has been a HUGE increase. It is now 250,000 and 350,000. So, many more people can file bankruptcy and still save their equity. Also, many more types of homes are entitled to the exemptions. The law also gave a small exemption for guns. There used to be none. There are some other changes, like being able to hold funds from home sales a little longer, but the big change, the crazy huge change, is in homestead exemptions. Bankruptcies I am told are way up. It is a great thing if u need it. If your family and friends don’t think br is a good tool for u, have THEM pay your bills. Right. Then call us and leave message at 719-632-9991. It goes to my email and I will get back to you.

My credit card information was stolen lately at the Pilot gas station on Baptist Road. I filled up and we happened to check the account and there was a $199 charge at a Conoco north of Castle Rock. Not sure if info taken off has pump or somehow done in my pocket electronically. There was a strange dark haired kid with a red gas can trying to beg gas or money from all cars pulling up. They were parked at a pump there. That car followed us out and passed us. Probably not a coincidence.

Bankruptcy to get comfortable again.

Bankruptcy morally wrong? Please. Is a person paying back a debt for DECADES morally right? My understanding is that the Bible relates that in biblical times a person’s debts could be extinguished every 7 years. Jubilation is what it was called. That is not what some of my clients have seen. AND student loans may be the worse, as currently there is no time limit on those. People end up dying with student loan debt that is decades old. That is just not right.

Mortgage modifications. Try it with your mortgage company. Over the last several years, more and more modifications have been possible for people in need. I assume that the government has their foot on the neck of mortgage companies, or they would not do anything for their customers. Take advantage of it if it is possible. And if not possible, certainly bankruptcy may be an option.

I cannot tell you how many people have over the past decades told me that bankruptcy made their lives better. It is like tax exemptions; in that if it works for you, you use it. AND nothing keeps you from paying every creditor back , down the line, when you can afford to pay that surprise medical bill, or pay for that credit card mistake. If you want to. BUT, of course, we hope you just move forward and that your life is made better by bankruptcy.

Talked to a nice guy today and the issues among others involved medical bills. If you are living with your spouse when you incur medical bills, your spouse may also be pursued for those bills. So if you loved your $2,000 colonoscopy last year, you might love your spouse’s $3,000 one this year AND both of you may be responsible for your spouse’s medical debt. That does not happen with credit cards unless your spouse has used it or is on the card. So, medical providers can charge it seems whatever they want for their services, and yet the law allows those creditors special treatment to come after your spouse? Is that fair? The thing about bankruptcy is that it levels the playing field. No one sets out initially to try to do a bankruptcy. But man oh man if it will make your life right, remember that it is available.
