Today, my business partner and best friend crossed over the rainbow bridge.
Mr. Bentley came to the office with me almost every single day for over 14 years. He has greeted countless clients with flopping ears and regaled them with his repertoire of tricks. We did everything together. He even slept on my lap while I got my teeth cleaned.
Even on his last day he was as photogenic as ever. I’m dreading going to work without him but it was time to let him go.
He was surounded by his people and was ready to, “go to his goal of freedom”, per his siblings.
As vet who helped him cross the rainbow brige told us, “The hole in your hearts is normal. Soon that hole will be filled with the happy memories you have with him. Mr. Bentley will live on in the hearts through all of the memories of those who were so lucky to get to meet him.”
I know that he lives on, not only in my family, but in every person that he made smile.
One thing is for sure, he made this world a better place and it’s a little darker without him.
