So we finally made it over to The Drift to see what the new changes is hitting on.

For those who don’t know, The Drift is under new management this year, which means a new menu and a new direction. Anytime a restaurant is making changes, I like to give them a fair shot, so me and my daughter went to check it out.

Here’s my honest take.

The Honey Old Bay Wings were decent. My daughter really liked them, and I’d definitely order those again.

The Fish & Chips had a nice piece of haddock with plenty of white meat. The fish itself was good, but I think it could’ve used a little more seasoning to really make it stand out.

The crab cake was solid. No complaints there.

As for the sides, the mashed potatoes just weren’t for me. They tasted like a plain potato without much flavor. The broccolini was cooked exactly how I like it—nice and soft—but could’ve used a little more seasoning as well.

My daughter ordered the Egg Roll in a Bowl, and unfortunately that one was a miss for her. She liked the chicken, but didn’t care for the dish overall and barely ate any of it.

Now before anybody jumps in the comments, keep in mind they’re still figuring things out. New management, new menu, new kitchen direction. That’s going to take some time. The location is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, and the menu actually has a lot of potential.

In my opinion, if they can dial in the food and make a few adjustments, this place could be a real hit.

One suggestion I’d love to see? Seafood boils. I think that would absolutely crush it around here.

Everyone’s waiting for rates to drop but here’s what nobody in Colonial Beach is talking about

I’ve had 3 conversations this week with buyers sitting on the sidelines.

Same thing every time:
I’m just waiting for the perfect time

There is no perfect time only the right strategy.

Sellers are more flexible than they were 1–2 years ago
Less competition = less stress for you
