I was born and raised in central Iowa, but moved away long enough to appreciate the midwestern values. As the wife of a basketball coach, we once moved 8 times in 7 years through 3 states–so I get it! Listen for an example of why you should consider using a professional to sell your home …

I will be the first to admit, finding the buyer for the home is not always the hardest part (especially in the last 7-8 years) so I can understand why sellers think they should go it alone to save money.

However, as your professional representative, my job does not stop when we find a buyer… It’s merely just beginning! From managing compliance and disclosures to navigating inspection request, and the not so far fetched buyer with cold feet, I am more often playing Dr. Phil than I am HGTV.

If you don’t believe me, even big bad Zillow agrees (link in comments). Zillow says via NAR’s 2025 data: agent-assisted sales closed at a median of $425,000 vs. $360,000 without one, a $65,000 gap.
