Iowa House File 2542 would increase mandatory prison sentences for repeat offenders under a proposed “three-strikes” framework. Ben Lynch spoke with We Are Iowa Local 5 News to explain his opposition to the bill, which is currently awaiting Governor Kim Reynolds’ signature. Lynch argues the bill will increase prison overcrowding without meaningfully improving public safety.
