Here’s what I shared on my 🎙️ Podcast👑 Royltee Unfiltered: Real Life • Real Talk • Real Fun
Honoring My Mother aka: Mammoosie
For me… before I ever held this microphone… before I ever believed I had something worth saying… there were women shaping my life.
But there is one woman in particular.
What can I possibly say about the precious gift God gave our family in the form of my mother, Marjorie Duncan also known as Mammoosie?
As children, we don’t always understand what our parents sacrifice for us. We're still growing… still learning… still trying to figure out the world.
But even as a little girl… I knew my mommy was special.
I used to watch her in awe.
She would wake up early in the morning, make breakfast for us, get herself ready for work, and still make sure we were prepared for school.
Then she would go to work all day.
And after that?
She would pick us up from school, take us to appointments, come home, cook dinner, help with homework, and somehow still find time to laugh and play with us.
And she did all of this with grace.
She served others.
She helped people in need.
She was active in church.
She poured into everyone around her, especially her family.
And honestly… I can’t even remember seeing her sick much. She just kept going.
But what stood out most to me was her:
Her kindness.
Her integrity.
Her unwavering faith.
My God… her faith.
She kept our family covered in prayer. She made sure my twin and I stayed rooted in church. She didn’t just talk about God; she lived her faith every single day.
My older brother and sister were much older than we were, so in many ways I saw my mom in a different season of life.
Steady.
Committed.
Consistent.
If she said she was going to do something she did it.
Her words meant something.
And that shaped me
I’m so grateful that GOD chose Marjorie Duncan to be my mother and me & my siblings are able to live in her and spoil her rotten 🌷 so to us Mothers Day is every day for us. She is truly my Shero.
I Love you Mammoosie
I don’t the rights to any music 🎶
