We were quite happy when we received this for our office, we have awesome clients who have given us awesome Google reviews. But two days later- received the same paper for the restaurant too. 🤔 Did some research- and it's more about selling plaques to put on your wall.
No, Business Rate awards are not traditional or prestigious achievements; they are part of a "vanity award" marketing model designed to sell you an overpriced plaque.
How It Works- Real data, automated reach: The company pulls public data from your Google Business Profile (like reviews and scores) to rank you against local competitors. Free ranking: Your basic position on their public ranking page is free, and you can share or screenshot it without paying anything.The catch: They email or mail you saying you won an award, but you must pay anywhere from $80 to over $200 if you want a physical plaque or trophy.
Felt the need to share as we have seen local businesses posting these letters, and clients have called in asking if it is truly legit.
We don't need a letter or an expensive plaque to let you know we're the best 😁 These papers now enjoyed our shredder. 😅
