As students head back to school, our team wants to help families keep safety top of mind. No matter how your child gets to campus, a few simple reminders can make a big difference.
Walking to school:
• Stick to sidewalks
• Cross at crosswalks
• Make eye contact with drivers
• Walk with a group when possible
Riding a bike:
• Always wear a properly fitted helmet
• Ride with traffic
• Stop fully before crossing
• Choose routes with lighter traffic
Taking the bus:
• Stand at least 6 feet from the curb
• Wait for the full stop before boarding
• Never cross in front of or behind the bus without making eye contact with the driver
Getting dropped off:
• Follow school zone speed limits
• Stick to your school's drop-off procedures
• Never pass a bus loading or unloading children
Teen drivers:
• Buckle up every time
• Put devices away
• Follow posted speed limits
We hope these reminders help keep your family safe as the new school year begins. If you ever have questions about safety or injury concerns, our team at Scott Marshall Injury Attorneys is here to help.
