Our Holiday Party is this Thursday from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM!

If you have not RSVP'd yet, please email or call us letting us know that you will be in attendance, or leave a comment below.

This is a catered event, so we want to ensure that there is enough food and drink to go around.

The more the merrier (no pun intended).

We look forward to seeing you all there :)

Happy Wednesday everyone!

The last couple of months have flown by! It feels like we blinked and September was gone, and now October is more than half-way behind us too.

I know how quickly schedules can fill up this time of year, and how before you know it there is something marked on your calendar for every day. With that being said, I wanted to make sure that we gave you all plenty of notice so that you can mark your calendars for our Holiday party in December. I know it seems like that is still so far away, but if the next two months progress as quickly than the last two did, then it will be here before we know it.

We will keep you updated on details as they come along, but for now please save the date!

Our Mobile Food Pantry, in addition to providing important food to our home-bound neighbors, offers pet food for companion animals. All too often we know individuals who will feed their beloved pets at the expense of their own nutrition, and Area 10 Agency cares deeply about helping to curb this. Many thanks to No Pet Hungry America for donating today 250 POUNDS of dog food and 144 POUNDS of cat food to help us meet this need!!!

Summer has flown by and the first day of school is already upon us. Hayes is entering her senior year of high school while Langley completes his senior year in college. It is crazy just how fast time flies... one day kids are off to their first day of kindergarten and the next they are seniors moving towards becoming adults and taking the driver’s seat on their own lives.

This year back to school is a particularly happy time because so many of the schools that were closed down due to the hurricanes last fall have been reopened. The Tampa Bay’s largest school district was set to open a new high school this year and Gulf Beaches Elementary is reopening post storm renovations.

Thousands of kids in our area are going back this week and those who aren’t are going back yet will be following along shortly. Though we are all sad to see the summer come to an end back to school gives us all so much to look forward to as the year progresses.

The office and I are wishing a great school year to all – parents and students alike, and we are especially wishing a wonderful final year to all of the seniors!

As I am sure many of you know we have been under a heat advisory nearly every day the last couple of weeks. I just wanted to remind everyone the importance of staying cool during this heat! Avoid staying out in the high temperatures for longer than necessary and stay hydrated.

As the peak summer heat starts to quickly approach, I wanted to remind everyone just how important that it is to stay hydrated. This is especially important to remember for the elderly people in our lives who may not be able to remember to do it themselves.

A couple of good tips to staying hydrated and beat the heat.
1. Drink lots of water, try to take in at least a glass of water before bed, first thing in the morning and alongside all of your meals.

2. Know the signs of dehydration- if you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

3. Avoid alcohol, sugary drinks and caffeine.

4. Be mindful of your activity level, getting activity is wonderful, but with the summer heat remember that the more you sweat the more likely you are to become dehydrated if the electrolytes you are losing are not replaced.

5. Eat a balanced diet, lots of fruits and vegetables as they contain lots of water and can be rehydrating.

6. Carry a water bottle with you to remind you to drink water through out the day.

Just wanted to check in with everyone and let you know that moving forward we will be doing free Medicaid consultations. We would love to be able to provide the assistance that the community needs in order to gain access to long term health care, and we understand how complex navigating Medicaid can be when you are trying to do it alone. If you or someone you know is trying to figure out the Medicaid planning process please do not hesitate to let us know, so that we can get you on the schedule for a free consultation.

Happy International Family Day!

Today—and every day—I feel immense pride and gratitude for my family. Time passes quickly, and watching children grow is a bittersweet reminder of that. Whether it's supporting one child through the final stretch of high school or encouraging another as they consider law school, I cherish every moment of this journey.

In my professional life, one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping clients find peace of mind as they navigate life's many transitions. It’s a privilege to play a small role in providing the security they need through long-term care planning and end-of-life preparations.

I'm deeply thankful to be in a position where I can support other families with the same care and dedication I give to my own.

I hope we can all take a moment today to reflect with gratitude on the people in our lives we are fortunate enough to call family.

Just like that we are into May!

It seems like 2025 is already flying by, I am confused as to where all the time is going!

"April showers bring May flowers" as they say, and I am sure excited to see all of the plants in bloom this season. In fact that is always one of my favorite parts about going to visit many of the facilities that we work with in Pinellas county. It warms my heart, as I am sure it does for many of you, to see all of the wonderful landscaping in our area. I would imagine that it brings many of the families that we work with joy knowing that their loved ones can look out the window to see many beautiful flowers in bloom. Or to be able to take a loved one for a walk in the garden without having to leave the comfort of the facility they are staying in.

I want to say thank you to all of you who work so diligently to maintain the plants around your location, and to provide such wonderful gardens for your patients to spend time in. Florida does not always put up the easiest fight when it comes to maintaining plants, so to see all of the effort is wonderful.

Happy May!
