ACCIDENTAL DEATH INSURANCE: THE BIG PICTURE

Accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance can safeguard families from devastating loss after an unexpected tragic accident. AD&D insurance is also known as “double indemnity” coverage. This name comes from the fact that AD&D benefits often pay the equivalent of basic life insurance coverage (which pays benefits whether death was caused accidentally or by illness) on top of the basic benefit i.e. doubling the overall recovery. Unfortunately, many insurance carriers are more in the business of collecting premiums then paying benefits. That means that policyholders often have to fight for what a carrier promised to pay.

As some of you know, I have practiced law over 36 years and have expanded my work into trial consulting through my venture TrialFocus.
