I have the honor of testifying before the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC) on March 9, 2026 on behalf of of TIAG, (the Tribal Issues Advisory Group), one of five standing committees for the USSC on pending revisions to the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which set policy for federal court criminal sentencing throughout the United States. TIAG is a federally appointed nine person committee that currently includes a federal judge from Montana, the Dean of the University of South Dakota Law School, a U.S. Attorney, federal public defenders, administrative experts, and Native American Tribal Court judges. The testimony will be taken at the Federal Judicial Center in Washington, D.C. and begins at 9:30 a.m. My testimony, along with others called, will be live-streamed at www.ussc.gov.
