Nine years. Two weeks of trial. One landmark verdict.

Today, a Dinsmore trial team secured a $36.3 million jury verdict on behalf of LDG Development, LLC in a case involving fair housing and equal protection claims against the City of Prospect, Kentucky. The verdict includes $7.3 million in punitive damages.

This victory reflects years of commitment from a multidisciplinary team led by Tanner Watkins and Kenyon Meyer, with critical contributions from Juels White, Suzy Marino, and Robert Simmons.

Partner Philip Longmeyer has been appointed by Governor Andy Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Public Advocacy Commission.

Phil will represent the Kentucky Bar Association in this role, which oversees the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, and the mission to provide free, quality legal representation to indigent Kentuckians accused of crimes or facing a deprivation of liberty throughout the Commonwealth.

As law students are heading back to class, so is partner Joshua Rogers! This fall, Josh is teaching a class on representing nonprofit organizations at his alma mater, West Virginia University College of Law.

Corporate partner Russell Knowles has been selected to the 2027 Class of Leadership Dayton.

Hosted by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, the program is designed to educate community leaders and increase their capacity to serve the Dayton region.

Russell and other participants will participate in seminars, panels and community interaction before they are matched with a non-profit organization at the end of the program to jump start their commitment to servant leadership.

WOW is a campus-wide series of programs and events – designed to help incoming students feel connected, supported and excited about their journey at Marshall and in the Huntington area.

The Kentucky Bar Association’s Bench and Bar Magazine recently featured Dinsmore’s involvement in this year’s Legal Food Frenzy. The Firm’s Lexington office won the Large Law Firm division by raising the most money for hunger relief.

The Legal Food Frenzy is a collaborative effort between the Office of Attorney General, the Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (YLD) and Feeding Kentucky. The friendly competition amongst law firms, legal offices and law schools helps address food insecurity across the region.
