As part of our annual Dinsmore Day gathering in Cincinnati, we celebrated three accomplished attorneys whose dedication, service and professional achievements continue to make a lasting impact across the Firm and in the communities we serve.

This year, labor and employment senior associate Don Morgan was honored with the Firm’s Difference Maker award. Named in memory of Alice Neely, the award is given to an associate who not just works hard for their clients but creates a positive impact in the office and community. The recognition also comes with a donation from Dinsmore to an organization of the recipient’s choice.

Chuck Roesch was celebrated for his outstanding career with this year’s Retired Partner of the Year award. Chuck spent four decades with Dinsmore where he served as chair of the Labor and Employment department, as a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors and finance committee.

Finally, Brian Sullivan was recognized as Mentor of the Year. Voted by his peers for being a source of advice for colleagues and young attorneys starting their careers Brian was applauded for his willingness to share knowledge and invest in the professional growth of those around him.

Attorneys from Dinsmore’s Pittsburgh office hosted family and friends at the annual Family House polo match fundraiser, supporting the organization’s efforts to provide an affordable “home away from home” for patients who travel to the area for medical care.

The afternoon featured a professional Polo match, divot stomping and other fun activities for families.

Several attorneys from Dinsmore’s West Virginia offices recently attended the annual West Virginia Business Summit at the iconic Greenbrier Resort.

For 90 years, the premier event has brought together leaders in law, business and government to discuss the state’s growth and opportunities for the future. The Firm is proud to have a role in the three-day event with its annual dessert reception where we welcomed clients, business leaders and colleagues from across the state.

Morgantown Managing Partner Jill Cranston Rice also participated in a breakout session discussing an overview of West Virginia Supreme Court decisions.

Nine years. Two weeks of trial. One landmark verdict.

Today, a Dinsmore trial team secured a $36.3 million jury verdict on behalf of LDG Development, LLC in a case involving fair housing and equal protection claims against the City of Prospect, Kentucky. The verdict includes $7.3 million in punitive damages.

This victory reflects years of commitment from a multidisciplinary team led by Tanner Watkins and Kenyon Meyer, with critical contributions from Juels White, Suzy Marino, and Robert Simmons.

Partner Philip Longmeyer has been appointed by Governor Andy Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Public Advocacy Commission.

Phil will represent the Kentucky Bar Association in this role, which oversees the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, and the mission to provide free, quality legal representation to indigent Kentuckians accused of crimes or facing a deprivation of liberty throughout the Commonwealth.

As law students are heading back to class, so is partner Joshua Rogers! This fall, Josh is teaching a class on representing nonprofit organizations at his alma mater, West Virginia University College of Law.

“Teaching at the College of Law is a fantastic experience, and I am always humbled when asked to do so,” Josh said. “To me, it is about sharing my experiences as a practicing attorney in West Virginia for twenty years with the next generation of lawyers. Corporate partner Russell Knowles has been selected to the 2027 Class of Leadership Dayton.

Hosted by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, the program is designed to educate community leaders and increase their capacity to serve the Dayton region.

Russell and other participants will participate in seminars, panels and community interaction before they are matched with a non-profit organization at the end of the program to jump start their commitment to servant leadership.
