URGENT SAFETY WARNING FOR SOUTHERN OHIO DRIVERS

Did you buy a used car recently or have collision repairs done after an accident? A major investigation reported by The Wall Street Journal and federal safety regulators (NHTSA) warns that counterfeit, exploding airbag parts from illegal overseas suppliers have been installed in thousands of vehicles across the U.S.—resulting in 10 deaths, including right here in Ohio.

Instead of shielding you in a crash, these fake airbags deploy like a gr***de, sending dangerous metal shrapnel into the cabin.

Who is most at risk?

🚗 Drivers with salvage or rebuilt titles 🚗 Used vehicles (especially Chevrolet Malibu & Hyundai Sonata models) repaired after an airbag deployment 🚗 Vehicles repaired at non-certified body shops using cut-rate parts

What should you do?

As extreme heat affects our area please keep in mind these safety tips during extreme temperatures:
* Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
* Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
* Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day (usually 10 a.m.–4 p.m.).
* Use sunscreen, as sunburn makes it harder for your body to cool itself.
* Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning if working outside.
* Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone without air conditioning.
* Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle—not even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside can rise to deadly levels very quickly, even with the windows cracked.
