The Robert E. Gordon Scholarship from the Jewish Judges Association of Illinois Foundation, Inc. in the sum of $3,600.00 is available to law school students currently accepted or attending an Illinois accredited law school who reside in Illinois and who have demonstrated accomplishment in academic studies, commitment to public service and financial need. A complete application must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

As you prepare for your upcoming law school graduation, we encourage you to create a student loan repayment strategy that is right for you. To learn more, we invite you to attend a free workshop to get on your own Road to Zero.

You have many options when it comes to student loan repayment — including a number of payment plans, consolidation options, and even the possibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Presented by AccessLex Institute, a nonprofit financial education provider, this workshop will guide you through creating your own Road to Zero strategy by helping you determine the payment plan that will best align with your current needs, future aspirations and financial goals.

Pipeline To Practice Foundation (www.pipelinetopractice.org) is a non-profit organization that is committed to supporting and nurturing diverse law students and early-stage attorneys at key stages in their academic and professional development by providing access to free programming and coaching throughout law school that is critical to achieving academic excellence, developing the skills necessary to be successful attorneys, creating pathways to leadership positions, and ultimately, to become role models to the next generation of diverse law students. If you are planning to begin law school in the Fall of 2017, meet the scholarship criteria and wish to be considered for sponsorship, then complete the scholarship application prior to the deadline.

Looking for 1L Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassadors are a group of volunteers in the Loyola law community who, as both individuals and a group, present a tangible student identity to prospective students. Student Ambassadors work closely with the Office of Law Admission and prospective JD students. Time commitment varies but we will work with your school schedule. You must be able to volunteer for at least 5 hours this semester.

EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITIES FOR AMBASSADORS
• Participating in student panel discussions and online chats
• Communicating with prospective students via email and in person
• Escorting prospective/admitted students to class for class visits
• Helping with the Discover Loyola Admitted Student Programs (March 25 and April 28)
• Assisting, as needed, at special recruitment events that occur throughout the year
• Participating in public relations efforts by allowing photographs and providing interviews

If you are interested in participating please complete the application by January 23. Brief 15 minute interviews to selected candidates will be that week or the following week.

New Financial Aid Counselor at Corboy Law Center

Viviana Arellano the Assistant Director of Financial Aid for the University will be the assigned financial aid counselor for all Arrupe, SCPS, and Law students. She will work in the lobby of Corboy on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting this week on November 2.
