Since 1929, the Bud Billiken Parade has celebrated youth achievement, education, and African American culture while bringing communities together across Chicago.

It was a pleasure attending the reception honoring Terry LeFevour for his 10 years of leadership as Chairman of the First District Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Character & Fitness.

Serving on the Committee under Terry’s leadership has been a rewarding experience.

It was also great connecting with Illinois Supreme Court Justice David Overstreet, Chief Judge Charlie Beach of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Vice Chair Tanya Woods, Senior Deputy Director of Character & Fitness Vanessa Williams, and so many colleagues and friends.

10 years ago this month, I took a leap of faith and launched my solo law practice in Chicago. What a journey it has been.

I’m grateful for every lesson, challenge, and opportunity along the way.
