Nuestra oficina está cerrado hoy en observación de Juneteenth que conmemora el 19 de junio de 1865, el día en que los afroamericanos esclavizados en Galveston, Texas, fueron finalmente informados de su libertad. Esta noticia monumental llegó dos años y medio después de la Proclamación de Emancipación y marcó efectivamente el fin de la esclavitud en los Estados Unidos.

I will be working remotely this week as I head off to AILA Annual Conference where I have the privilege to present at the Removal I: Essentials of Immigration Court Practice Panel!

I am so excited to share my knowledge and experience and learn from all the other amazing attorneys who will be speaking on their own expertise.

I know that it is extremely alarming the new USCIS policy memo and adjustment of status. But please do not let this scare you, which is what they want to do. They want to rob your peace of mind. What it says is that adjustment of status are based on discretion which we already knew. That’s why we always want to document the relationship between the petitioner and the applicant and the good moral character of the applicant.  below I have pasted the policy memo in case you want to read it. But at the end of the day, it is business as usual if you have an adjustment of status case pending USCIS will still review it and make a decision if they require more information they will send a request for evidence. If you were going to apply still apply. USCIS will still be receiving all applications.
