City Council Passes ‘Fair Notice’ Ordinance, Giving Longterm Renters 120 Days’ Notice To Leave ----

ahead of the Cares Act expiring, the City has taken action.

The measure, passed on a 35-14 vote, raises the notice period from 30 days to up to 120 days that landlords must give tenants if they decide not to renew their lease.

I'm not sure this is the answer but am I am in favor of adding more units. Adding basement apartments would help more.

They are found all over Chicago but are frowned upon by city zoning rules. Whether that should change is a topic expected to get more discussion this year.

Please send a respectful email to State's Attorney Robert Berlin requesting that Mercado be evaluated for hoarding and ask State's Attorney Berlin to present evidence for additional charges of Aggravated Cruelty and Animal Torture.
