"Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced Wednesday that second installment property tax bills for the 2022 tax year are expected to be ready Nov. 1 and due Dec. 1."

Second installment bills have usually been mailed in July and due by Aug. 1, but last year they weren't out until late November.

Beginning July 1, the Rental Housing Support Program state surcharge will double from $9 to $18. Cook County is therefore raising its recording fee from $98 to $107, DuPage is going from $67 to $76, and Lake is increasing its fee from $60 to $70.

From the order to show cause why plaintiff’s counsel ought not be sanctioned: "A submission filed by plaintiff’s counsel in opposition to a motion to dismiss is replete with citations to non-existent cases. … Six of the submitted cases appear to be bogus judicial decisions with bogus quotes and bogus internal citations."
