“I'm a truck driver. About 2 years ago I made a stupid mistake - I was overweight and got pulled into the weigh station in Arizona. My gross weight was ok, but I was waaaay over on my drive axles. The officer was super nice, but said he couldn't just give me a warning so I got a ticket. Before even leaving the weigh station, I sent the citation to my LegalShield provider law firm - I have a CDL plan. I was assigned an attorney in the area the next day and from the time that attorney was on it, my ticket’s court hearing kept getting continued for about a year and a half. Finally, my attorney emailed me to let me know he defended me in court and all I needed to do was take an online class and it would be dismissed! The fine would have been $5,000, which I did not have to pay! I also did NOT have to take any time off work to show up in court. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. This story is somewhat embarrassing to me to share because I should have known better. But all this representation was fully covered and didn't cost me any more than my monthly LegalShield membership.”

“The member called our LegalShield provider law firm quite upset. Her house had burned down and her homeowner’s insurance company was denying the $250,000.00 claim. Most attorneys would jump at the chance to take that case on a contingency of about $80,000.00 but our firm opted to help her at no additional charge under the included provision of letters and phone calls. Our attorney first contacted the member’s insurance company's attorney to encourage them to pay the claim. The answer: still denied. He next wrote a letter to her insurance company, demanding immediate payment, or we would file suit for the $250K, court costs, attorney's fees, and, as provided under state law, three times the damages for bad-faith denial of their client's claim and their outrageous behavior. The insurance company promptly replied back that they had reconsidered, and would pay the claim. The frosting on the cake? The executives of the local branch of the insurance company took the member out to lunch to apologize for the way everything was handled. How much did this cost the member? Not one cent over her monthly membership fee.”

“I returned from out of town to find three new speed bumps in my neighborhood. We have small children in the area so I understood the need to slow down the drivers. One of the speed bumps was so large, though, that it was impossible to drive over it in my Ford Mustang without bottoming out. I contacted the president of my HOA and she was super defensive - it was her call to install these speed bumps. I was friendly, but argued that the one speed bump was just too high. She said, 'Too late. They're permanent, there's nothing we can do.' I didn't know who else to turn to, so I called LegalShield. The attorney did some research and concluded that the size of the speed bump was indeed unreasonable and wrote a letter on my behalf. I was overjoyed (and so was my Mustang) when, 5 days later, I drove up to a crew of workers wearing welding masks as they worked to skim the top off that speed bump to reduce it to a reasonable size. I was in the process of selling my home in Michigan and I was already living in Texas. About one week before the sale was to be completed, the buyer quit her job. She was upset Quicken Loans found out she had no job and refused to give her a mortgage. The buyer demanded I give her back her $5,000.00 deposit and suggested we would find another way for her to buy my house. Meanwhile, she left me sitting with an empty house and she breached our contract, so I refused to pay her back the deposit. So, she sued me.
