Congratulations to the on securing the legal victory that ultimately struck down the current administrationโs anti-DEIA executive orders and legislation! Those of us who continued to fight for justice in the midst of opposition that is still ongoing today take pride in this legal victory.
On March 24, 2025, I filed RSColeman & Associates Staffing LLC v. U.S. Department of Education, No. 4:25-cv-10812 (E.D. Mich.), on behalf of my company, RSColeman & Associates / RSColeman & Associates Staffing LLC the first federal case of its kind challenging Executive Orders 14151 and 14173 and the Department of Educationโs enforcement actions at the very beginning of these mandates. In this case, I introduced an erasure framework showing how dismantling DEI protections functioned as systemic exclusion, documented the economic domino effect impacting Black professionals and institutions, defended Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and post-Jim Crow educational pipelines, and exposed the chilling effect these policies created across education and employment spaces.
I am proud that this case, my case, while being a historical first in many ways, helped move this fight into federal court and contributed to the legal groundwork that intersected with and preceded the relief ultimately secured in this historic win.
Today marks the 4-year anniversary of launching RSColeman & Associates / RSColeman & Associates Staffing LLC. With this victory and the legal framework I curated, will go into its new chapter even more aligned and more purposeful than before. There are so many exciting things on the horizon. Stay tuned!
