This week, we are excited to highlight Erin Berry, an outstanding pro bono attorney and winner of the 2021 Pro Bono Award for Legal Services for Indigent Clients. Beyond her legal advocacy for those in need, Erin serves as a board member of the Friday Food Bag Foundation, a nonprofit providing food to kids who might otherwise face food insecurity on the weekends. For her strong commitment to better people’s lives, we are thankful to have her as a volunteer.

I volunteer for Equal Justice Wyoming because it’s the right thing to do. As attorneys, we are uniquely positioned to help our communities. Our legal system works the best when both sides are adequately represented, and financial limitations should not restrict someone’s ability to fully and adequately participate in the legal system. There are so many people in our communities that need the services we provide, and volunteering through Equal Justice Wyoming is one small way that I can help bridge that gap. Selfishly, it also reminds me about the good that can come from being a lawyer. There have been stages in my career where I have become jaded with being an attorney. Volunteering through Equal Justice Wyoming reinvigorates me and reminds me why I love the practice of law.
