Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions, including title abstracting and settlement processing. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage transactions from contract to closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys in handling residential and commercial real estate transactions
Review purchase agreements, contracts, deeds, closing statements, and other transaction-related documents
Conduct title abstracting and prepare title commitments when required
Identify and resolve title issues in collaboration with attorneys
Coordinate and schedule settlements/closings, including communication with all parties involved (buyers, sellers, lenders, realtors, etc.)
Prepare and review settlement documents, including CDs (Closing Disclosures), ALTA statements, and escrow instructions
Process post-closing documentation and ensure proper recording of documents
Maintain accurate records and manage real estate transaction files
Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and firm policies
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal, with both residential and commercial transaction exposure
Experience with title abstracting and settlement/closing procedures is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of real estate documents, closing processes, and title/survey review
Familiarity with title insurance requirements and underwriting guidelines
Title Producer license preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Qualia is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Notary Public certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
