Does your young adult child need their own Estate Planning Documents? Absolutely! Once they turn 18, they're legally an adult and you don't have the legal authority to handle their affairs should they need help due to an injury, illness or auto accident. You need to be named as their Agent in a General Durable Power of Attorney and a separate Health Care Power of Attorney in order to be able to do so. I advise all my clients to have these documents drafted for their children once they turn 18. Call or email our office if you have any questions.

Parents should have legal documents for college-aged children: FERPA Release, HIPAA Authorization, Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare Directive, and a Will.

As many of you prepare for New Years Eve celebrations, we here at the Chesterfield Missouri Police Department would like to encourage everyone to be safe during their celebrations. If you choose to engage in libations, we ask you to please have a designated driver and/or utilize a Ride Sharing App. There is ZERO excuse for you to be behind the wheel under the influence of any kind, including that of narcotics and/or ma*****na.

We also advise against shooting off any fi****ms to celebrate. Discharging a firearm within the city limits a violation in which you will be held accountable if we are made aware of your crime. Keep in mind, what goes up must come down. NO ONE wants to wake up the next morning with a bullet hole in their home or worse.

Now should you choose to be a rebel and live life to the fullest with no regard for your safety or that of others, we will gladly host you at our lovely 5-star Chesterfield Inn. You will have access to a luxurious one-of-a-kind stainless-steel toilet with soft 1 ply tissue, a wonderfully padded bed, a hot sandwich, and of course 24 hours round the clock Closed Circuit TV.
