Very pleased Assemblyman Lawler has taken this important first step toward ending the theft of Supreme Court seats in the 9th Judicial District. With less than half the population Westchester has 26 judges while Orange, Rockland, Dutchess and Putman with more population combined have only 11.

A bill sponsored by Assemblyman Mike Lawler, R-Pearl River, would split up the current Ninth Judicial District by separating Westchester County from Dutchess, Orange, Putnam and Rockland counties.

Professor Gerstman's article is worth a read. Sad tale of ethical failure.

In a 29-page decision filed last week, Judge Zayas meticulously documented how the two prosecutors abdicated their constitutional and ethical duties and denied defendants a fair trial.

Very proud to announce that Senior Associate Amir Sadaghiani has been awarded an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Amir joins a handful of select attorneys in the Hudson Valley to have been rated AV Preeminent.

Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings are the gold standard in attorney ratings, and have been for more than a century. The AV rating indicates an attorney who is both respected by his peers for his ethical standards as well as his legal expertise in a specific area of practice. The AV Preeminent is the highest peer rating given. Fewer than 10% of attorneys nationwide are awarded AV Preeminent ratings during their career.

Very proud of our associate Amir Sadaghiani who won a DMV DWI Refusal Hearing this afternoon for a client. The case stemmed from a car stop in Dutchess County and misdemeanor criminal charges of DWI. Amir successfully argued to the Administrative Law Judge that the arresting officers failed to inform our client that they were denying him the right to speak with his attorney prior to submitting to the breath test. This error resulted in dismissal of the refusal. Those familiar with this area of practice know how difficult it is to prevail at DMV hearings.
