Happy Memorial Day! 🌊🐶 Are you planning to hit the beach with your dog this summer? Here’s what you need to know…

Virginia Beach has specific pet rules in place from Memorial Day through Labor Day to keep public areas safe and clean. Here’s a quick breakdown:

Oceanfront Beach (Rudee Loop to 42nd Street):
🔹 No dogs allowed during summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day)

North End, Sandbridge, and Chesapeake Bay Beaches:
🔹 Dogs are welcome before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
🔹 Must be leashed or under the owner’s control at all times.

Boardwalk Access:
🔹 Leashed dogs are allowed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Other important reminders:
🔹 Dogs must remain leashed (or under control) on the boardwalk, sidewalks, streets, and beach.
🔹 Owners must clean up after their pets.
🔹 Dogs must be licensed and current on vaccinations.
🔹 Dog parks are open from sunrise to sunset.
🔹 Off-leash play is generally allowed north of the Ocean Beach Bikeway, but not between the path and the Ocean Beach Pier.
🔹 Service animals are exempt from these restrictions.

Doing this video for my company recently really made me stop and reflect on everything these past 9 years in real estate have meant to me.

Hundreds of clients helped.
Dozens of friendships made — both in and out of the industry.
Many, many success stories as well as a few horror stories and a lot of funny anecdotes.
I continued to learn and grow over the years.
I earned my North Carolina license in 2018, my Property Management Certification in 2024 and my Associate Broker license in Virginia in 2025.

This career also gave me the opportunity to do things I once only hoped for — fully support my single-income household, put my son through college without student loans, take some long overdue travels and trips abroad, and tackle more home improvement projects than I can count.
Real estate has challenged me, humbled me, stressed me out, and rewarded me in ways I never expected.

Most of all, I’m grateful for every person who trusted me along the way.
