But ... what’s he gonna do next?
Having wrapped up The Longhair Linguist’s flagship project - getting “How to Succeed Without Being an ***” available in print, ebook, and audiobook - I have some free time to begin my next two business pursuits!
I like to keep my “L” names, mission statements, and vision statements close to the chest until it’s time to launch, but I’m so excited about my next two ventures that I’m ready to give a sneak peek at what’s in the pipeline. We have to share our dreams to make them real, don’t we?
First, I plan to start a real estate brokerage here in Washington State (“agency” is the term folks in most states would use). As an attorney with more than a year of experience involving real estate transactions, I should qualify to sit for the managing broker’s exam here in Washington. I’m doing my coursework now. I get exactly one chance to pass this test - so, in some ways, it’s more pressure than the bar exam!
Second, I plan to write, record, and produce music as a singer/songwriter and make money doing it! Out of every possible business scheme I’ve ever even dreamed up, this one must have the highest statistical likelihood of utter failure!
Why am I doing all of this?
(1) Variety is the spice of life. I want to make my living doing lots of things in industries I love.
(2) I want other people to pursue their passions. I hope that, by having moderate success with a number of business pursuits, I can inspire others to take the leap and start that one business they’ve always wanted to!
