The upcoming change won’t impact how I work with clients, as it’s always been part of the process.

Starting August 17, realtors and their buyer clients will need to sign a Buyer Agency Agreement before touring homes. This written agreement outlines the relationship, terms, compensation, and more. While this has been standard practice, it is now a formal requirement. This change ensures clarity and protection for both clients and real estate agents.

Additionally, the compensation, if any, offered by the seller to the buyer’s agent will no longer be advertised on the MLS. Many Sellers will still offer compensation to buyer’s agents. In the scenario that a Seller is not offering Buyers Agent Compensation, my team and I have creative strategies to support and protect clients.

Keep in mind, these updates won’t significantly alter the real estate process in the US. If you have any questions, I’m happy to discuss them over a coffee or a cocktail or two 🙂 .
