Attorney Kaitlyn and Paralegal Ren secured long term disability benefits from Hartford for their client after an initial denial.
The client suffers from diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, lumbar spondylosis with radiculopathy, restrictive lung disease, heart conditions, long COVID syndrome, chronic pain syndrome, chronic migraines, osteoarthritis, and several other serious conditions.
Hartford denied the claim, stating that the client could perform four sedentary occupations, even though its own reviewing doctor found that she did not have sedentary work capacity.
On appeal, our team submitted updated medical records, medical opinion forms, a functional capacity evaluation, and a vocational evaluation demonstrating that the client lacked both sedentary work abilities and transferable skills. Based on this evidence, Hartford overturned its denial and approved long term disability benefits.
