JOHNNIE COCHRAN The OK Simpson Trail of the Century took place January, 1995 - October, 1996; during my 2nd and 3rd year of law school. Must see tv! 25 years later and the names off all the key players are still engraved in our minds. Defense Attorneys Johnnie Cochran and F. Lee Bailey, Prosecutors Marsha Clark and Christopher Darden, Detective Mark Furman and Judge Ito. Think about that: 25 years ago, and there is no other trial before or since; where we can’t forget the name of the Defendant, the victim, the Judge, the prosecutors and the defense attorneys. LEGENDARY (of course, it was on tv, all day, every day, for a year. The pick was me and JC a couple years later... you like it when you walk up and the damn man says “Yes Roderick?” Of course I was president of black lawyers and I had just introduced him an hour earlier, before he gave the commencement speech at Fayettville State University. Ben Crump was giving a presentation a few years back, and he called me by name. I learned from a legend that day.... people like it when say their name!
