You’re in your early twenties, what do you want? I met Nathan because he wanted to build a home so we looked at many lots and finally found one. After a long due diligence period we learned the land didn’t perc and the old septic system was not going to work.
I spent many hours on the phone with Union County DHEC trying to figure out how we could make this work. In the end we decided it wasn’t the right piece of land.
We find a property that’s to be built, make an offer, only to find out, that land needed an engineered septic system and the price would be going up.
Then out of the blue this darling 1937 brick home is calling my clients name. The staging looks great, home has been updated and it’s in a great place. What more could you ask for? How about all the furniture? Yep! That home was not staged, the former homeowner just had great taste and my client needed everything, this was his first home.
Talk about move in ready! This house came with everything. All he needed to do was bring his clothes and some food and call this place home.
Absolutely the best possible scenario for this young first time home buyer. What a great start!
Advice for the kids just starting out. If you can live at home with mom and dad for just a few years and save up for a down payment, DO IT! While not all loans require a large amount down, putting more down will get you more home!
