Community involvement is a staple for our firm. Last Friday, Attorney Lynch spent the morning sharing information about what we do and the legal field with 4th and 5th graders at Newell Elementary School in Charlotte, NC. Their Career Day was a huge success. As you can see (last pic), our favorite 2nd grader came to see her Dad during her lunch break.

On October 14, 2023, NATHAN REED, JR., a paralyzed black man was assaulted by a Roanoke Rapids police officer. He was grabbed out of his motorized scooter, thrown to the ground and wrongfully arrested because he used profanity while talking with family and friends.

Franklin County, NC — a jury unanimously found the shooter of 19 year old victim, HAMILTON WOODS, JR. guilty of second degree murder today after nearly 24 hours of jury deliberation. The Woods family retained Attorney Chance Lynch very shortly after Hamilton’s murder to work to ensure a thorough investigation and to rid potential conflicts of interest.

Attorney Lynch promptly requested a recusal of the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office and opposed any bond decrease on behalf of the family. Special Prosecutor Lisa Coltrain was assigned the heartbreaking case. After nearly 2 years, the murderer of young Hamilton will serve 16-20.5 years for his actions on January 29, 2023.

“Hamilton’s legacy continues to live in all of us. This has been a long road for this family. Today’s verdict is a resounding reminder that his death is a tragic loss for all of us, but certainly not in vain.”
