Home inspections aren’t meant to scare you; they’re meant to protect you.

This is one of the most important steps in the buying process. It’s where we slow down, take a closer look, and make sure the home you love is truly a sound investment.

From the roof to the foundation, HVAC to plumbing every detail matters. And yes, I always recommend my buyers attend the inspection. The report is important, but hearing directly from the inspector gives you clarity and confidence.

The reason is actually way more obvious...

📌 Access.

If buyers can’t get in to tour the home... because of tight showing windows, short notice, or scheduling issues — they’ll move on.

It sounds simple, but it happens all the time.

This is especially true for out-of-town buyers. They’re serious, but usually only for a day or two. If your home isn’t available when they are? That could be a missed opportunity.

Even with great marketing and pricing, limited access can stall a sale.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Buying a home can be stressful.

But you can keep buying stress to a minimum if you keep these three things in mind.

1. Stick to your budget.

Nothing adds more stress than pushing the limits of what you feel comfortable with financially. Get pre-approved and decide on the top end of your budget.

2. Lean on your agent.

Do your research when choosing an agent. When you’ve found one you trust, lean on their expertise to guide you through the process.

3. Follow your instincts.

If something doesn't feel right during your search, say so. Ask questions and only consider homes you truly love and meet your needs.

Stress doesn’t have to overshadow your excitement about buying a new home. Just remember these three things and save this post for later or share it with someone you know who's buying a new home soon!
