Managing Partner, Carrie Goodwin Fenwick, and co-counsel, Eric Passeggio, recently obtained a defense verdict on behalf of Mountaineer Gas Company in the Circuit Court of Roane County. The case arose from a wrongful death personal injury claim arising from carbon monoxide exposure. After a 5-day trial, the jury returned a defense verdict, finding no fault by Mountaineer Gas.

Goodwin attorneys Booth Goodwin and Ben Ware are teaming up again with Calwell Luce diTrapano in the investigation of yet another shooting by a Roane County deputy. Our attorneys have called upon the Sheriff to release body camera footage in the recent shooting, which is eerily similar to another shooting by the same deputy just last year.

CHARLESTON – Attorneys for the family of a Roane County man shot and killed by a deputy are asking the sheriff to release body camera footage of the incident.

Attorneys Benjamin Ware and Bob Pruett won a key victory in West Virginia federal court in favor of their client, an aviation and propeller service company out of North Carolina. The client was sued in West Virginia even though it had little to no connection with this state. Attorneys Ware and Pruett filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit for lack of personal jurisdiction, arguing that the lawsuit was filed in the wrong state. The Court agreed and entered an order last Friday, March 27, 2020, dismissing the lawsuit against the client in its earliest stage.
