Congratulations to our newest Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Associates admitted to the WV State Bar: Lauryn Ward (Charleston), Carolyn Castle (Martinsburg). Welcome to the Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Team.

Lauryn S. Ward is originally from Parkersburg, WV. She attended college at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, where she graduated cm laude in 2022 and earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies. Lauryn was an active member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority while at Marietta College, as well as various other Marietta College organizations, including the Marietta College Dance Team and the Student Government Association. While at Marietta College, Lauryn was also inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha honorary society. Lauryn earned her J.D. from West Virginia University in 2025, where she was on Law Review, and participated in the General Litigation Clinic and the Women's Leadership Council.

Carolyn Castle is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Charles Town, West Virginia. She attended college at Shepherd University, where she graduated in December 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Political Science. While at Shepherd University, Carolyn was a four-year member of the Shepherd Rams Cheerleading team. Carolyn earned her J.D. from West Virginia University in 2024.

Chuck is currently the Editor of DTCWV’s “The WV Defender” newsletter…. a massive undertaking. He was a member of the DTCWV Board of Governor for three terms. Chuck is the Managing Member of the Charleston office of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC. He currently serves as general counsel for the Greenbrier Valley Airport, the Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport, and counsel to the State Credit Union.

Jill is a DTCWV Past President and is Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation practice group. She has been named a West Virginia Super Lawyer® and included in The Best Lawyers in America®, including in the 2017 Business Edition for “Women in Law.” Jill is a founding member of the Appalachian Institute of Digital Evidence, a non-profit that focuses on educating students. Jill serves on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and the Development Committee of Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She also serves on the Board of Fund for the Arts and helps coordinate the Fund’s outdoor jazz music festival.
